The global release dates for “Wonder Woman 1984” has unveiled by Warner Bros. Last week the studio announced this superhero movie sequel for Gal Gadot’s female heroine will be available simultaneously in theaters worldwide and on HBO Max.
This sequel “Wonder Woman 1984” is set to hit the big screen in the US on Dec. 25 as planned. But in the countries where HBO Max is not available the “Wonder Woman” sequel will release earlier to avoid any piracy concerns. Warner Bros. planned to begin a staggered rollout starting on Dec. 16 to release this movie sequel.
On Christmas day how many cinemas in North America will be open by the time “Wonder Woman 1984” premieres it is still unclear from the reports. According to Comscore, about half of the theaters in the country are currently closed, so it’s hard to say in which theaters the movie is going to release on Christmas day.
The French government permitted the theaters to open on 15th Dec, the day before “Wonder Woman 1984” is set to release. But in the United Kingdom, Italy, and other parts of Europe the movie theaters are still shuttered to control spikes in pandemic cases. Also, there are no updated plans to date to reopen the theaters in those places.
Patty Jenkins previously directed 2017’s “Wonder Woman” is returned to direct the sequel “Wonder Woman 1984”. The first movie of this series generated about $800 million at the global box office. This sequel stars Chris Pine, Pedro Pascal, Kristen Wiig, Robin Wright, and Connie Nielsen along with Gal Gadot.
