Christian Bale is playing the villain’s role in the upcoming sequel of Thor: Love and Thunder, which is set to release on 11th February 2022. Taika Waititi has announced the fourth entry for Chris Hemsworth’s God of Thunder following the success of Thor: Ragnarok.
Christian Bale will play the role of Gorr, the God Butcher in the upcoming sequel and Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster will eventually become the female Thor. The role of Bale in the upcoming movie had been rumored for quite some time and now it’s been explicitly confirmed.
Kevin Feige of Marvel Studios has revealed lots of upcoming changes during Disney’s Investor Day, and that includes Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness. Also, the new trailer for WandaVision has revealed The Falcon and the Winter Soldier as well as Loki, the God of Mischief.
Brad Winderbaum, the executive producer of Thor: Ragnarok explained in an earlier interview with ComicBook how the character Gorr was developed as an inspiration (partly) for Cate Blanchett’s Hela. Winderbaum expressed, “A lot of the design of Hela is a combination of the early Jack Kirby stuff but also…especially his power set, the villain Gorr, who has a very specific power set of being able to manifest an infinite number of weapons. We are doing a version of that, not exactly, but a version of that for Hela in our movie.”
